Artwork Guides
Guides to choosing nature artwork for the home you love
A print should feel like it belongs. These guides walk you through size, format and room — the same questions Martha asks when she pictures a photograph on a wall — so a little of God's goodness in nature can live where you live.
Choosing a size
Start with the wall, not the print
Measure the wall — or the furniture below it — first. Then pick the size that lets the photograph breathe. Available sizes vary from print to print, so check each product page for its options.
-
Small walls & nooks
8×10 · 8×12 · 9×12 · 11×14
Bathrooms, reading corners, shelves and narrow spaces beside a window or door. Also lovely grouped in a gallery wall.
-
Consoles, desks & nightstands
12×16 · 12×18 · 14×18 · 16×20
Entryways, home offices and bedsides — a print that holds its own without crowding the furniture.
-
Sofas, beds & feature walls
16×24 · 20×30 · 24×36
The main wall of a living room or bedroom, where one photograph sets the mood for the whole space.
-
Wide walls & sets
Sets of 2 · 3 · 4
Above a long sofa, a bed or a dining table, a matching set fills the width with rhythm and calm.
- The two-thirds ruleAbove furniture, artwork (or a whole set) looks best at about two-thirds of the furniture width.
- Hang it at eye levelOn an open wall, place the centre of the print about 57–60″ from the floor. Above furniture, leave 6–10″ of space.
- Keep sets closeSpace prints in a set 2–3″ apart so they read as one calm piece.
- Try the paper testCut paper or painter’s tape to the print size and tape it to the wall for a day. You will know.

Artwork by room
Let the room choose the season
Begin with the colours already in the room and the feeling you want it to hold — restful, bright, focused or welcoming. These rooms show how each choice comes to life.

Questions
Good questions before you choose
What size should I choose?
Measure your wall or the furniture below it. Above a sofa, bed or console, aim for about two-thirds of the furniture width — a single print or a set. On an open wall, larger sizes feel calmer than a small print floating alone. The paper test helps: tape a cut-out of the size to the wall before you order.
Should I choose by colour or by subject?
Start with colour — pick a photograph that repeats one or two tones already in the room. Then let the subject set the feeling: water and mountains for calm, blossoms for joy, winter scenes for stillness.
Which format is right for me?
Choose flat canvas if you love to pick your own frame and mat. Choose gallery-wrapped canvas for a clean, frameless look, or black framed canvas for a finished gallery look. Both arrive ready to hang.
Does the flat canvas print come framed?
No. The flat canvas is printed to order in Martha’s studio with a 1/8″ off-white border on each side. The frame and mat are not included — frame it just as you would a photo print.
Are these Martha’s own photographs?
Yes. Every print is a nature photograph taken by Martha Solo.
How long does delivery take?
