Authentic Nature Photography | Printed with Love in Washington State
Where It All Began
It was a rainy October morning in Washington State — the kind of day most people hurry through.
I was on my way home from a trip when something stopped me. The pavement was wet and glistening, reflecting colors so vivid they didn't seem real. Fallen leaves lay across the ground like a painting no human hand could have made — deep blue, fiery red, bright orange, soft pink, golden yellow, fresh green, rich brown.
I stood there in the rain and thought: this is not an accident. This is artistry.
I took out my camera and started shooting. Picture after picture. I couldn't stop.
When I got home, I kept thinking about those leaves — how fleeting their beauty was. How most people had walked right past them without a second glance. And I knew, in that moment, that my purpose was to slow people down. To show them what they were missing.
That rainy October day in 2021 was the beginning of everything.
The Woman Behind the Lens
My name is Martha Solo. I am a nature photographer, a macro photography artist, and a woman who believes deeply that beauty is not decoration — it is a doorway.
I was born with eyes that notice things. The way morning light catches a single dewdrop. The way a petal curves just so. The way frost traces its signature across a leaf as if signing a masterpiece.
I am an Orthodox Christian, and my faith shapes everything I see. I don't photograph nature to document it. I photograph it to bear witness — to say: look at what God made. Look at how extraordinary the ordinary is.
Since fall 2021, I have been traveling across Washington State and the Pacific Northwest, camera in hand, searching for the moments most people miss. Macro photography is my language — it lets me bring you inside the image, closer than the naked eye can go, into a world of texture, color, and quiet wonder.
In April 2022, with the loving help of my daughter Sofiya — a talented graphic designer — I opened my first store and The Virtue of God was born.
What We Create
Every print in The Virtue of God collection begins with a real moment in a real place.
No AI. No stock photography. No filters that distort what nature actually looks like.
Each image is captured by my own hands, printed in my home studio on premium Palo Duro canvas using an Epson SC-P900 printer with original pigment inks — fade-resistant, giclée-quality, built to last for generations.
Every piece is made with intention. Every piece is made with love.
Why It Matters
I want to do more than create beautiful images.
I want to awaken something in you — a sense of wonder, a moment of stillness, a reminder that we are all part of something larger and more beautiful than our daily lives allow us to see.
Art has the power to unite. Beauty has the power to heal. And nature — God's greatest canvas — has the power to remind us of what we share, regardless of where we come from or what we believe.
When you bring a piece of The Virtue of God into your home, you are not just decorating a wall. You are choosing to live with beauty. You are choosing to be reminded, every single day, that grace is everywhere — waiting to be seen.
"Each piece I create is a celebration of the fleeting moments that surround us — proof that God's artistry is everywhere, waiting to be seen. I don't just photograph nature. I photograph grace." — Martha Solo
